Functional Food |
Probi has signed agreements with Danone and Skånemejerier for products in the field of functional food that contain Probi’s best-known bacterium Lactobacillus plantarum 299v, (Lp 299v). Danone is developing products using Lp299v but none are on the market yet.
Fruit drink - ProVivaProViva fruit drinks were launched in 1994 and were the first products on the market to contain Probi's probiotics. The drinks are based on oats, are lactose-free and contain Lactobacillus plantarum 299v. A number of clinical studies have been performed on ProViva, and in November 2003 it was the first probiotic product outside Japan to receive approval by an authoritative body (Swedish Nutrition Foundation) for its product-specific health claims. Drinking Yoghurt - ProVivaProViva Drinking Yoghurt was launched in 2005. Fat content is only 0.5% and the drinking yoghurt contains the same concentration of Lactobacillus plantarum 299v as the fruit drinks. The drinking yoghurt is available in different flavours. Shot - ProVivaProViva Shot, launched in 2003, is a more concentrated ProViva fruit drink. The concentration of Lactobacillus plantarum 299v is five times higher than in the standard ProViva. As the name suggests, the product should be consumed in one shot. ProViva Shot is a convenient way to start a new and healthy habit – in the morning or at any other suitable time during the day. ProViva Shot is available in different flavours. Recovery drink - ProViva ActiveIn 2000, a further development of the ProViva fruit drink, ProViva Active, was introduced onto the market.
